Meditations on God

  • What They Think

Think about all of the things you never did simply because you were afraid of what someone else thought.

Imagine what you would have and could have experienced and accomplished by now if you did not listen to other people’s fears or criticism.

They do not have to live with your regret.

That is your burden to bear.

It is one thing to have failed while attempting something great, but to have never even tried is a failure much worse.

Be yourself now and end the cycle of regret.

Live your life the way you see fit.

No one else can do it for you and what they think about you is none of your business anyway.

  • Stumble Forward

    Progress is not linear.

Growth is neither easy nor is it pretty.

The path to becoming who you are is a long and winding one.

There will be many obstacles along the way.

    You will make many mistakes.

You will experience both joy and tragedy, love and loss, ecstasy and pain.

Life can be breathtakingly beautiful in one moment and shockingly ugly in the next.

Embrace the good and the bad, and stumble forward as gracefully as you can.

  • Seek Peace Slowly

    Seek peace.

    But start small.

    Make it easy for yourself.

Start where you are comfortable and undistracted.

    Sit.

    Breathe.

There is no need to hurry.

Meaningful change is a slow process.

  • Creative Limitations

    Constraints breed innovation.

Having fewer options forces you to be more creative.

When you cannot have everything you want, you must learn to work with what you have.

While having fewer options may feel like a hindrance, it actually makes decision-making easier.

This is why constraints are beneficial for creative work.

With too many options available, anything is possible.

This often makes it difficult to even get started.

By limiting your options, by imposing constraints upon yourself, you can focus on what matters, and that is the work.

  • Without Curiosity

Without curiosity, there is no room for possibility.

Without curiosity, there is no room for joy.

Without curiosity, cynicism begins to creep in.

All you can see is what you think you already know.

Your world gets smaller and smaller.

Without curiosity, there is no hope.

Your life is reduced to one of mere practicality and necessity.

Without curiosity, you are alive, but not living.
