  • A Little Compassion

The thing someone appears to be upset about may not actually have anything to do with you.

Simply because someone is upset around you does not necessarily mean that you did something wrong or that you need to intervene.

Even if another person’s frustration, anger, or irritation are aimed directly toward you, you still may not be the cause of their unrest or dis-ease.

Humans are complex creatures with complex emotions and complicated thought-lives.

Relationships are even more complex and complicated.

What is on the surface is rarely, if ever, the whole truth.

Be patient, understanding, and open with each other and acknowledge that life is difficult, and relationships are also.

A little bit of compassion goes a long way.

  • Receiving The Gift Of Grace

Grace will only take you so far; your feet have to take you the rest of the way.

Grace is an often overlooked and under appreciated facet of life.

    You do not control it.

Nor do you necessarily deserve it.

It is a gift, given to you without any thought or effort on your part.

Whether or not you acknowledge or appreciate it, grace is a real and powerful force acting upon you in your times of need

Grace helps you face your difficulties, it makes the obstacles in your path feel less unsurmountable, and it makes the impossible seem possible.

But grace cannot do the work for you; it simply makes the work easier.

You must dedicate yourself to the path, you put in the effort, and you must follow through, for this is how grace is truly received.

  • Willing To Forgive

    Forgiveness is not easy.

Your trauma is part of your identity.

The chains of your suffering feel like a security blanket.

Your anger, fear, and sadness become your safe space.

    They feel comfortable and familiar.

After all, they have kept you alive for this long.

It feels as if to let go of your suffering would be to die.

Quite often, however, that which you feel has helped you to survive is actually the thing that has kept you from thriving.

That which you hold onto from your past is preventing you from living to your full potential.

If you want to be free of this burden, if you want to truly live, you must first be willing to let go of your suffering.

You must be willing to forgive.

  • Forgiveness Heals

    Healing begins with forgiveness.

Whatever trauma, hardships, or wrongdoings you have suffered in the past are in the past.

Keeping them with you as you move forward only serves to cause you more pain and suffering.

Holding onto these experiences becomes an unbearable burden that drags you down into the pits of anger, sadness, and despair.

You have to learn to let go.

You have to learn to move on.

But the only way to do this is through forgiveness.

Forgiveness is the key to unlocking the chains that bind you to your past.

  • Plan For Change

Make plans, but be open to change.

Nothing will go exactly how you want or expect it to.

Change, therefore, should be part of your plan.

That way, you will be less disappointed when you are forced to pivot.

Success will come to you much easier when you are willing to adapt to life as it is, as opposed to insisting that it conforms to your expectations and demands.

Remain flexible and open-minded, and you will find that, even when you face challenges and difficulties, your journey is far more interesting and enjoyable.
