It is very difficult to have multiple priorities.
No matter how good you may think you are at multi-tasking, you can really only focus on one thing at a time.
Changing focus and changing priorities is neither easy nor is it free.
Every time you stop paying attention to one thing in order to pay attention to another, it costs you momentum.
Without momentum, you cannot truly make progress.
By constantly shifting focus, you are in a perpetual state of false starts.
This prevents you from doing deep work.
That is to say, you cannot do your best work if you do not focus on your best work.
By prioritizing everything, you are essentially prioritizing nothing.
So choose what matters most in this moment and give it all of your attention.
Make it a priority by making it the priority.
If you can give your most important work your undivided attention, you will find that your work becomes much more rewarding.
