  • Peaceful Involvement

It’s tempting to get involved in the drama of life.

When the world around you seems to be going crazy, it can be difficult not to follow along.

    Emotions are contagious.

At some point, however, you have to decide which is more important to you, being involved or being at peace.

It is possible to do both, but only if your peace precedes and informs your involvement.

Realize that anything that pulls you away from your peace is ultimately a distraction, a detour from your purpose.

And it is highly unlikely that your purpose is to follow the crowd into madness.

  • Measuring Priorities

A person’s priorities can be measured by what they spend their time on.

What they give their attention to is evidence of what they care about.

In order to give attention to something, something else has to be ignored.

If you are not a priority, take note.

    Don’t be upset or hurt.

Simply accept the truth of this and plan accordingly.

Make sure that you are giving your time and attention to your own priorities and those who prioritize you.

  • Simply True

    The truth is quiet.

    It isn’t loud or boastful.

It does not insist upon being heard.

The truth is not angry or forceful.

It does not have to justify itself or convince others of its validity.

Nor does the truth need for you to believe it.

    The truth is simply true.

  • Find Your Center

    Find your center.

Seek that place inside you that cannot be moved.

This is where there is no anger, no worry, and no expectations.

Go to this place for peace, rest, and comfort.

When you find yourself becoming excited, distracted, or disturbed, settle back into this place.

    Go to your center.

    Make a home there.

  • Temporary Pleasure

Do not allow temptation to distact you from your path.

As you pursue your goals, many opportunities will arise to quit or to take an easier, softer way.

    Trust the plan.

    Stay the course.

You will never get anywhere worth going if you are not dedicated to the path you are on.

It will not be easy and it will not even always be enjoyable, but the results will be worth the effort, pain, and sacrifice in the end.

Do not sacrifice a worthwhile pursuit for temporary pleasure.
