  • A Decision To Change

Do not underestimate your ability to change for the better.

All you need is a decision, a plan, and the discipline to follow through in spite of obstacles, setbacks, and perceived difficulty.

It will not always be easy and it certainly will not always be fun, but it is possible to change.

But no one is going to do it for you.

No one is going to make the decision for you.

No one is going to do the work for you.

No one is going to motivate you or cheer you on when you are all alone and you want to quit.

All of that is on you.

But once you make up your mind, once you put a plan in place and begin putting in the work toward the change you want, if you do not quit, you will become who you want to be.

It all starts with a decision.

  • Happiness Or Regret

If you live your life in a way that makes you happy, you will inevitably disappoint some people.

This should not be your goal, but it will happen.

There will be times when you have to choose between what others want or expect from you and what you need to do in order to be happy.

    Choose happiness.

Of course there are some relationships within which you will have to compromise and wherein your attention to the needs of others will be required, but beyond these, you have an obligation to yourself to pursue that which brings you joy and fulfillment.

Regrets are largely optional and your goal should be to live your life in such a way that you die with as few regrets as possible.

No one else can do this for you and no one else will choose this for you.

Choose happiness or live with regret.

  • Make Up Your Own Mind

Do not allow other people’s prejudices, resentments, and fears to dictate your attitude.

The more you participate in the world, the more you will be bombarded with different opinions, attitudes, and perspectives.

You cannot avoid outside influences, but you can make up your own mind.

Also, you can and should form your own opinions based on your own experiences and values.

In the end, your attitude will largely dictate the quality of your life.

As such, make sure that your attitude is actually yours and not something you have simply picked up along the way.

You need to live with yourself.

It is best, therefore, to be yourself.

attitude, be yourself, beliefs, independence, individuality, opinions, think for yourself

  • Intentional Values

Start with your values and build from there.

Without values, you are moving blindly through life.

If you do not know what is important to you and why, you have no way to define success or failure, you cannot measure progress or setbacks, and you have no real basis for decision-making.

If you do not have values, everything and nothing matter equally and simultaneously.

For your life to have meaning and for you to have purpose, you must consciously decide what matters most to you and allow that to guide your decisions, scheduling, and planning.

Your values are the foundation upon which your life is built.

Build your life with intention and integrity or accept the life you are given.

  • Successful Beyond Measure

When aiming for success, be careful not to overshoot right past happiness.

It is possible to be too successful, to become so obsessed with doing better and having more that you miss the point of success altogether which is to have a life that you enjoy living.

In fact, without enjoyment, without the happiness and satisfaction that come from doing well for yourself and the people you care about, your accomplishments can hardly be seen as successful anyway.

Success, therefore, is not defined by what or how much you have, but by how happy you are with what and how much you have.

If you can find joy and contentment in your life regardless of where you are, what you have, or who you are with, you will be successful beyond measure.
