  Stop trying to prove to others that you are right.

  That which is true is true regardless of perception.

  Your responsibility is not to persuade others to the truth, but to align yourself with it, to adapt to it, and to allow your words and deeds to bear witness to it.

  You must remain open to the possibility that you are wrong, however.

  Misunderstanding is far easier to come by and much more seductive than understanding.

  For this reason, the truth favors humility.

  Approach the truth humbly and it will reveal itself to you.

  Represent the truth humbly and it will reveal itself to others.

• Staying Sane Or Chasing Crazy

  If the world around you is going insane, do not follow it there yelling and screaming.

  Going crazy about other people going crazy is neither sensible nor practical.

  And truthfully, is it also not very helpful.

  Let it go, let them go, and go the other way.

  You cannot help people who do not want to be helped and you especially cannot help people who are going mad by going mad along with them.

  If you want to do any good at all, for yourself or others, you must stay disciplined, centered, and focused.

  As alluring as frustration, anger, and resentment are, they are not your allies.

  Avoid the trap that is fear and worry, and do not give in to cynicism.

  When not much else makes sense, stay close to your tribe and be a beacon of patience, kindness, and compassion for others who may also be looking for the peace and comfort of truth.

  It is also an investment in your relationships.

  Whatever pain you feel now for amending your mistakes is a raindrop in the ocean compared to the pain you will feel for the rest of your life for failing to do so.
