Your best ideas now may be better saved for later.
Timing matters.
The right idea executed at the wrong time is the wrong idea.
Be patient, but don’t procrastinate.
Don’t allow fear of failure to hold you back, but also don’t be so hasty that your ideas have no chance of success.
Keep working, trying, and failing.
When the perfect idea is executed with the perfect timing, it feels like magic.
Your work is not the work others tell you is important.
Your work is not even necessarily your job.
Your work is the work you know you need to do in order to fulfill your purpose in life.
It is the work that makes all of the other work unnecessary or irrelevant.
And yet, this is the work you resist most strongly.
This is the work that you distract yourself from most carelessly.
Prioritize your work and take meaningful action forward.
Be careful what you put off until tomorrow.
“Not now” has a tendency to become never.
Never turns into “I wish I had.”
“I wish I had” becomes regret.
Regret is something you have to live, and maybe die, with.
If something is important to you, act like it.
Do not put off that which matters most until a tomorrow that may never arrive.
Effective is often better than perfect.
Perfect is a concept used to procrastinate.
It is an excuse to not get the job done.
What we should really be after is not perfect, but effective.
Effective means we have accomplished our task.
It means our work is good enough to do the job it was designed for.
Effective is an underrated standard.
It is the first target.
Aim for effective first.
Once your work is effective, then you can seek to make it perfect.
Effective achieved is better than perfection unrealized.
If you cannot accomplish everything you set out to do today, at least do some of it.
It is far better to make small, incremental steps of progress than to make no progress at all.
Do not use an all or nothing attitude as an excuse to do nothing.
Do something, no matter how small, to work toward your goals every day.
When you do not have the time, energy, or resources to do a lot, do a little, but do something.
Over time you will notice that all of your small steps forward have taken you farther than you imagined.
Some progress is infinitely better than perfection when perfectionism keeps you from making progress.
