  • Why Over What And How

Knowing why you are doing something is often as or more important than knowing what to do or how to do it.

Understanding why gives you direction and purpose.

    It gives you motivation.

Knowing why gives you the ability to look past the task at hand and to see the bigger picture.

    It gives you perspective.

    Find your why.

When you do, the what and the how become inconsequential.

They are simply the means to and end.

If your why is strong enough, if it is important enough to you, you will do whatever is required and you will go as far as is necessary for it.

  • Strength In Weakness

Dive deep within yourself until you find your strength and then go deeper.

Keep going until you come face-to-face with your weaknesses, vulnerabilities, and insecurities, for this is where you will discover who you truly are.

This is where the real work is done.

It is the things that you do not want to see, that you do not want to confront, and that you reject within yourself that need the most attention.

Those things that repulse or terrify you the most have the most to teach you.

If you can face those parts of yourself that you abhor and avoid, if you can come to terms with them, embrace them, and work through them, nothing and no one can stop you.

You are only as strong as your biggest weakness, so that is where you must spend most of your time.

  • On The Other Side Of You

If you do not yet know what your purpose is, give it time.

Stay true to who you are and your purpose will reveal itself.

Pursue that which calls to you, follow that which energizes you, and explore what you find along the way.

    Play.

    Make mistakes.

    Fail.

    Fall down.

Get up and play some more.

    Have fun.

    Rejoice.

    Cry.

    Give up.

    Start over.

You need every ounce of joy and pain to make you into who you are.

    Wear it.

    Swim in it.

    Dance with it.

    Dive in.

    Do not look back.

You are waiting to meet yourself on the other side of you.

  • Motivational Fear

    Fear does not create solutions.

    It can, however, create motivation.

Fear’s job is to point you away from risk and sometimes you should listen to fear.

But you cannot have success or progress of any kind, or a meaningful life for that matter, without taking any risks.

As you attempt to improve your life, as you pursue your dreams and your goals, and as you begin to step out of comfort and into growth, fear will try to stop you.

When fear arises, you can either withdraw from risk and allow your fears to keep you from moving forward, or you can take it as a sign that you are about to do something brave and use it as fuel to motivate you.

On one hand, you can tuck your tail between your legs and run the other way, but on the other hand, you can put your head down, lean in, and get to work.

    The choice is yours.

  • Trudge Forth

Your demons are yours to face.

    And face them you must.

The longer you wait, the more difficult it will be to do so.

Avoiding your demons only makes them stronger.

You cannot run from them because they are a part of you.

They exist inside you to be your teachers.

Your demons are stepping stones within your soul upon which you must walk to discover who you truly are.

There is no way around them.

The only path to truth and freedom is through the dark, hidden recesses of your being.

Face the direction of your fears, lean in, and trudge forth.
