Meditations on God

  • Generous Or Not

Generosity with expectation of reciprocity is not generous.

This type of giving is transactional, not altruistic.

Giving of yourself and expecting something in return, even acknowledgement or thanks, is not unreasonable, however.

    It is simply not generous.

Be clear with your motives prior to giving of yourself or your resources.

If you expect something in return, be honest about that, knowing that you are not being generous.

If you are being generous, expect nothing in return and don’t complain when you get it.

  • Deciding And Becoming

If you make a decision about who you want to be, you only have to make it once.

Now it is time to take action.

Every day, when you wake up, you don’t have to think about who you are.

The decision has already been made.

You simply have to do the work to prove that you were serious.

Do this work day after day without exception or excuse.

You become who you decide that you are.

  • Choosing Rebirth

You get to start over any time you want.

You can be whomever you please.

You can live as many lives as you desire within this one life you have.

You can die to your old self and be reborn as often as you choose.

Every day is a new day.

Every moment is a new opportunity.

Choose to be someone you are proud of.

  • Irredeemable

An unwillingness to forgive others is based on a belief in your own irredeemability.

How you treat others is a direct reflection of your own beliefs about yourself.

You cannot forgive because you do not believe that you should be forgiven.

In your mind, if you are unforgivable, others are as well.

If you cannot be redeemed for your mistakes, misunderstandings, and shortcomings, neither should anyone else be.

But you hold yourself and everyone else to an impossible standard.

You are not beyond redemption or forgiveness, even if you believe yourself to be.

  • Significance In Service

There are forces at play that want you to feel like you are missing out because you aren’t keeping up with everyone else.

They want you to feel like others have it better than you, like you are falling behind and are unable to capitalize on opportunities to be successful.

    But you are being tricked.

It is a trick to make you feel insignificant.

Because, as long as you feel insignificant, you can be manipulated to follow, to fight, and to consume.

But significance is not found in comparison, consumption, or conflict.

Significance is a life lived in service to that which you love.
