Meditations on God

  • Maybe Later

It’s easy to get so caught up in our work that time passes us by.

We imagine that we will be able to catch up later.

We tell ourselves that our loves ones, our health, and our dreams will be there when we are done.

We’ll pay attention to them later because our work needs us now.

Maybe we’ve got it all wrong.

Maybe our priorities are all mixed up.

What are we working for if not for our loved ones, our health, and our dreams?

  • Live With Others

When you stop trying to force the world to adapt to your desires, you’ll be a lot happier.

You have enough things to worry about without worrying about what everyone else is doing.

Life is full of opportunities and you will miss many of them by constantly trying to change others.

Focus on being yourself and let others be who they are.

Learn to live with others instead of trying to change them to be more like you want them to be.

Embrace the differences you find in those around you and enjoy the unique interactions life presents to you.

Not only will you be happier, but you will also have more energy because you won’t be wasting yours trying to change the world.

  • Internal Motivation

What if nobody cared about your hard work?

What if nobody cared about your success?

What if nobody cared about your failure?

    What would you do?

Would you still be on the same path?

If you got no credit, received no praise, and there was no external reward for your efforts, what would you do with your life?

Search deep inside for your internal motivation and let that guide you along your path.

  • Your Inner Life

Be careful not to let your occupation become your identity.

Make sure there is more to who you are than what you do.

    Life is unpredictable.

Your outer life can change in a single moment.

Everything you have worked for can be lost or taken from you in the blink of an eye.

If your identity is based entirely on what kind of work you do, if you can no longer do it, you will be lost.

You must, therefore, develop your inner life as much or more than your outer life, for your inner life is with you regardless of your occupation, location, or status.

  • Work You Must

It is easy to think you have done enough.

You have worked hard, you have given your all, and you deserve to be rewarded.

But life doesn’t stop simply because you have done good work.

Life keeps moving and you must also.

You cannot rest on your laurels.

The successes of tomorrow must be earned every day.

It is advisable, then, to do work that you care about because work you must.
