The rustling bush
draws my attention
as the red bird emerges
and takes hurried flight
finding a peaceful glide
on the quiet breeze
that carries it away
a smile emerges on my face
but I am not its source
it is as if God
smiles through me
at His own creation
acknowledging
that it is good
a thought
that makes me smile
once again

is a lonely path
but you are not alone
a thousand prophets
and a thousand saints
have walked this path
before you
and as you walk
this narrow path
their spirits remain
to comfort you
your lonesome heart
is shared by them
let their love
inspire you
for in their love
is the love of God
and His promise is to never
foresake you
