Is there anything that exists
outside of God
does anything live
move and breathe
without God’s consent
yet we believe
we can exist apart from God
that we can turn away from God
and choose other than God
but our very breath
the beating of our fragile hearts
and our even our freedom
are the gifted permission of God
to choose to love Him
or to deny
that which gives us life
