The Change You Aim To Make

Be careful to not let other people’s negativity ruin the good you are trying to do in the world.

Negativity can be contagious.

This is especially true if you are a sensitive person who is easily influenced by other people’s emotions and agendas.

In this way, empathy can actually cause problems.

Generally, empathy is considered to be a good thing, but it can also make you susceptible to feeling what others feel when you do not want to and when it does not serve you.

In order to protect yourself from unwanted outside influences, you have to establish and maintain boundaries that allow you to keep your feelings yours and other people’s feelings theirs.

Otherwise, you may find yourself fighting someone else’s fight instead of living in your own peace.

It helps to know your why.

Knowing your purpose, your reason for doing what you are doing, helps to keep you aligned with who you are so that you do not get caught up in and distracted by the emotions and agendas of others.

By knowing what you want to accomplish in your life and in the world around you, and having a clear understanding of and commitment to your reason for wanting this, you will be less susceptible to emotional and intellectual persuasion, intentional or not.

Establish your why, plot your course, and get to work, and do not let the negativity of others distract you from the change you aim to make.
