Meditations on God

  • Loosen Your Grip

Do not hold on too tightly to what you have.

When you do, you leave no room for anything new.

There is so much more to life than what your finite imagination can conjure.

Let go of what you think you want.

You are likely selling yourself short anyway.

Relax your gaze and your grasp.

Leave room for mystery and possibility.

    Life may pleasantly surprise you.

    mystery, opportunity, possibility

  • From Anger

What have you gained from your anger?

Has it made your life better or worse?

    What has it given you?

    What has it taken?

Has it brought you more or less peace?

    Has it improved your relationships?

Have the longterm consequences been worth the short-lived satisfaction it has brought you?

It is time to let go.

  • Getting Old

You can get older without getting old.

You do not have to lose your curiosity.

You do not have to lose your enthusiasm.

You do not have to lose your sense of wonder.

    Remain playful.

    Have fun.

    Explore.

    Live.

  • To Your Potential

You need people in your life who will push you to be better.

It is difficult to see your own weaknesses.

Likewise, it is difficult to see your own potential.

You need people around you who can see both, and who can guide and motivate you through your weaknesses and toward your potential.

But they cannot do the work for you.

That is on you, and it will not be easy.

It will require more from you than you think you have, but your future self will thank you for the effort.

You are capable of more than you ever imagined.

  • The Illusion of Safety

You can still lose by playing it safe.

You can avoid risks for your whole life and still fail.

In fact, by making the decision to not put yourself out there, to not take a chance, and to not go after whatever dreams you have, you are guaranteeing that you cannot succeed.

If you know what you want, the only thing stopping you is fear.

If you are waiting for the fear to go away, it never does.

If you are waiting for the perfect time or opportunity, it will never come.

The fact that you have a dream is a gift in itself.

Do not trade your dreams for the illusion of safety.
