  • Action For Change

    Results come after action.

This may seem obvious, but, if it were, a lot more would get accomplished than actually does from day to day.

Instead, we think about what we want to happen.

We talk about what we want to happen.

We complain about what has already happened and we worry about what may happen.

None of this actually creates the change we want to see in ourselves, our relationships, or in the world around us, however.

    Change is created by action.

Change is created by one force acting on another.

All of the other stuff, all of the thinking and all of the talking, all of the complaining and all of the worrying, is really just wasted energy unless it causes a change to take place.

So, if change is what we want, we must take action.

  • Once In A Lifetime

Every moment is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

There was never one like it before.

Nor will there be one like it again.

This moment is all we get.

Then, just like that, it is gone.

Our time is so easily wasted, squandered, and spent.

But, once gone, we can never get it back.

We should keep this in mind as we go throughout our days.

We should do our best to make the most of each once in a lifetime opportunity we are given.

Because, someday we will look back on the moments we had and either regret or rejoice the choices we made, the attention we gave, and the connections we formed with them.

  • Acts of Kindness

Every act of kindness, generosity, and compassion is an investment.

All of the little things we do for other people add up.

But, they do not add up like credits in an account we can draw from later.

They add up for the other person.

Ideally, they make a positive impact on that person’s life in a way that will help them to do the same for others in the future.

By doing kind, generous, and loving things for others, we are investing in the kind of world we want to live in.

We are helping to create that world one moment, connection, or gesture at a time.

    That is our payback.

    That is our reward.

Through our good deeds, no matter how small, trivial, or insignificant they may seem, we are making the world a better place for ourselves, the people around us, and the people who come after us.

This may be all that we get in return for our efforts.

If we are expecting or hoping for more than this, if we are looking for praise, gratitude, or reciprocity, we will likely be disappointed.

  • The Challenges Of Growth

Our personal truth will change over time.

As we grow and evolve, our beliefs, opinions, preferences, and desires will grow and evolve as well.

This will not always be an enjoyable process.

Change and growth are not always pleasant experiences.

Sometimes, in fact, they are quite painful.

    Change and growth challenge us.

They push us past our previous limitations and boundaries.

Through change and growth, we will find ourselves in unfamiliar territory, not knowing who we are or what will happen next.

We will feel alone and afraid.

We will want to turn around and go back.

Life does not work this way, however.

There is no returning to who we once were.

    Change is going to come.

    Growth is going to happen.

Sometimes, the best we can do is to hold on for the ride.

  • Time For Our Wants

We do not always have the time to do the things we want to do.

What we must do should take precedence.

While those things we must do make our lives possible.

Those things we want to do make our lives worth living.

We have to find a balance between these.

We have to find the time to do what we want after we have done what we must.

This will require organization and discipline.
