Pressure To Change
Pressure is a funny thing.
It has the power to crush, constrict, and destroy.
But pressure also creates diamonds; it creates beauty.
Sometimes pressure exists in our lives to make us stronger, purer, and brighter versions of ourselves.
Other times, we experience pressure that forces us to stop, change course, and move in a new direction.
Either way, pressure changes us.

Thoughtfulness Is Good Practice
Being thoughtful toward others is never wasted effort.
Even if our thoughtfulness is not reciprocated and our feelings get hurt, it is still good practice.
It is our expectations, not our thoughtfulness, that lets us down.
We are made better by being thoughtful toward others regardless of the outcome of that thoughtfulness.

Simple Times
When we look back at our lives, it will most likely be the simple times we remember most fondly.
Thinking back to the times when we felt the most free, we will smile longingly, wondering how we got so busy.
Where has all the time gone and what have we even been doing?
Where were we going in such a hurry, why, and for who?
Beneath all of the busyness, who are we and what have we become?
When we look forward in our lives, it will most likely be the simple times we pine for most strongly.

Surviving Fear
It is difficult to know what brings us joy when we are in survival mode.
From a psychological, emotional, or physical posture of fight or flight, joy is not possible.
Survival demands one hundred percent of our energy and attention, and leaves nothing in reserve for our happiness.
Our mental, emotional, and physical well-being will always take a backseat to our mental, emotional, and physical survival.
If there is any hope for us to find joy in this life, we must first rise above fear.
