Meditations on God

  • Life Creating Itself

You owe it to yourself to put something beautiful into the world each day.

The world desperately needs your unique perspective.

The world needs you becoming you.

Life itself is longing for your creativity to express itself as life itself creating life itself creating life itself creating…

  • The Only Way

We are told when we are young that we can grow up to be anything or anyone we want to be.

But then we are educated to become only that which is useful and to do only that which is deemed practical.

Our imaginations are replaced with expectations and our dreams are replaced with limitations.

This is the path of regret and remorse.

There is another way and that is to make our own way, but we must do so in spite of all of the fears, insecurities, and obstacles standing in our way.

  • The Fine Line of Parenting

We walk such a fine line as parents, giving guidance, encouragement, and support while still allowing our children to find their own way, be their own persons, and pursue their own paths.

We want the best for them, but we also cannot do the work for them.

We want to share our hopes and courage with them, but without also giving them our fears and insecurities.

We want to see them do great things, but we have to be careful not to live vicariously through them.

And we will mess it up. We will make mistakes and have regrets. We will think we are doing what is right, but we will often be wrong.

We will fumble and we will fail, but as long as we continue to show up, to be loving and present to the degree we are able to do so, we will walk that fine line with them, and sometimes that is the best we can do.

  • Doubt is a Coward

    We will always have doubts.

This is especially true if we are seeking greatness, if we are pushing ourselves to be our best, and if we are unwilling to accept mediocrity.

We will doubt our abilities, our potential, and our right to strive for more than what is given.

But doubt is a coward and a bully.

No matter what doubts we have, regardless of how powerful and real they may feel, doubt backs down when confronted with action.

  • Fooled By Certainty

It is easy to be fooled into compromise by the promise of certainty.

This is especially true if we are not firm in our convictions.

Doubt leaves room for temptation to creep in and to take us off of our path.

But no one can promise us certainty, or at least they cannot promise permanence.

It is a fool’s bargain, therefore, to trade our destiny for someone else’s false promise of certainty.
