  • Failure To Succeed

How you think about failure largely determines whether or not you will be successful in the endeavors you pursue.

If you perceive failure as an absolute, as being final, and as the end of the road, that is likely what it will be for you.

With this mindset, when you reach a point of failure, you will not want to go further because you will not be able to imagine it being possible.

If, on the other hand, you perceive failure as simply part of the growth process, as the means by which you learn valuable lessons, and as the jumping off place for bigger and better things, the future will look much different to you.

You will see failure as temporary and it will fuel you to go forward.

Your mindset with regards to failure is what will drive you to either accept your losses as an excuse to give up or to use these losses as the motivation and the education you need to keep going until you succeed.

  • Journey Together

Let your principles guide you, but do not expect everyone else to follow where they lead.

Just like you, everyone else is on their own path.

No one person’s calling is the same as another’s.

Remain true to your principles and do not waiver, but also leave room in your heart for other people to do the same.

Be careful not to judge another person too harshly for their values.

You do not know what has brought them to this point.

Find a way to be at peace with what you believe while also being at peace with the beliefs of others.

They are doing their best to survive in this world and to find their way just like you are.

You do not have to accept their values as your own.

Nor should you expect them to accept your values as their own.

Find a way to live with each other’s differences.

Your path is different than theirs, but we are all on this journey of life together.

  • Discipline Over Time

You never know when your effort is going to pay off.

You can be certain, however, that your efforts will not pay off if you quit.

Frustration, discouragement, and setbacks are part of the path.

    All things worthwhile are difficult.

    Keep going.

Do not give up in the middle of your journey.

Dedicate yourself to the work and do not lose heart.

You will gain and lose momentum along the way, but real progress is not made quickly, nor is it always easily felt or seen.

It will take time and focus to get where you are going.

Success is the result of discipline over time.

  • Understanding Our Feelings

It is often difficult to decipher the emotions we experience at any given time.

We are complex creatures with complex emotional and psychological natures.

We do not really have a clean line of perception to the root of what we feel or why.

Our personal histories, relationships, environment, and even our own thoughts, beliefs, and opinions all play a part in how we feel about things, but these often get all jumbled up inside us so it is difficult to decipher what is what.

We may feel one thing on the surface, but beneath that feeling is something entirely different.

A circumstance or interaction may bring up certain feelings, seemingly out of nowhere, without any real explanation.

Sometimes we feel so intensely about something that it affects our whole lives without our even knowing why.

Add to all of this the fact that we spend an insane about of time trying to deny, reject, deflect, and suppress our feelings, and we have a very confusing situation indeed.

There is no real solution to the conundrum that is our emotions, but it does seem that it is better to acknowledge and embrace what we feel, to sit with it and get to know it, and to make friends with it, than it is to try to ignore or avoid it because we cannot simply wish away our feelings.

Our feelings are ours and we have to learn to live with them or they will control the way we live.

  • The Messenger

Face the challenge in front of you.

    Struggle is a gift.

This is an opportunity to learn who you are and what you are here for.

Whatever trials and tribulations you encounter are given to you for a reason, but you must face them in order to understand.

If you run or hide from difficulty, you are merely postponing the lesson it has to teach you.

And the lesson you are meant to learn does not go away simply because you ignore or deny it.

The lesson remains, waiting to be discovered.

    Embrace this moment.

    Seize this opportunity.

    Trudge forward into the unknown.

Free yourself from the chains of comfort that bind you to your past self.

Your truth is waiting to be discovered.

This challenge is simply the messenger.
