  • Perfectly Your Own

Perfectionism is the enemy of creativity.

    It stifles the imagination.

Instead of helping you create more art, it paralyzes you.

It keeps you stuck, unable to finish anything for fear that it is not good enough.

But your work will never be perfect.

    Perfect is an illusion.

It is a figment of your imagination.

It is an ideal created in your mind to keep you feeling insufficient and insignificant.

Instead of trying to make art that is perfect, make art that pleases you.

Make art that you are proud of.

Make art that you want to exist in the world.

You cannot make art that is perfect, but you can make art that is perfectly your own.

  • Just This Thing

Make this thing, just this thing.

You do not have to create your masterpiece.

You only have to finish this one thing.

It does not have to change the world.

It merely has to please you.

If it does not please you, keep going until it does.

When you are done, make something else.

  • Since Yesterday

Has your life changed significantly since yesterday?

Have you kept all of the promises you made to yourself?

Are you doing the things you said you would do?

Or are you the same person today that you were yesterday, doing the same things you always do, making the same excuses you always make?

We have all been there, but you have to stop lying to yourself.

Stop making promises to yourself that you cannot or will not keep.

Set realistic goals and start working toward them now.

Do a little bit every day and do not stop.

Or, if you do stop, start again as soon as possible.

Meaningful transformation is difficult and it takes time.

You will not see the results you seek overnight.

Becoming the person you want to be requires discipline and dedication, and it is quite often inconvenient and uncomfortable.

But if you want to be a better person tomorrow than you were yesterday, take action today.

  • Just Another Day

    Tomorrow is just another day.

    It is nothing special.

You will not magically transform into some better version of yourself overnight.

Who you are tomorrow is the result of what you did today.

So do something today to make your life better.

Take action now in the direction of the person you want to become.

It will take time, effort, and dedication.

Meaningful change happens slowly, over a long period of time.

And it will not be easy.

That is why you should not wait until tomorrow to get started.

    Anyway, tomorrow does not exist.

It is a figment of your imagination.

    All you have is now.

    What are you doing now?

  • Focus On The Work

When you are attached to the outcome, you take yourself out of the moment.

You lose sight of the process.

This makes you less effective at accomplishing the task at hand.

The work is done in the present.

That is where you should focus your attention.

By being overly concerned with results, you have divided your mind.

A divided mind cannot function optimally.

If you are thinking about how your work will turn out, you cannot give yourself fully to the work.

Obviously, results are important, but you will get your best results if you do your best work.

And your best work will be done by focusing on the work itself, not by thinking about how it will turn out.
