Meditations on God

Returning
to silence
I surreder
to vulnerability
acknowledge
my weakness
submit to
your presence
in silence
I decrease
that you may
increase in my soul

We suffer
so that we may learn
to love
the depth of our sorrow
becomes our capacity
for compassion
the Lord teaches us
through pain
how to forgive
and be forgiven
how to love
and be loved
we may not understand it
but with God
our suffering
is never without purpose

Jesus please
help me
to love
as you have loved
to forgive

to sacrifice

I do not
have the strength
nor the courage
to do this alone

you gave me riches
beyond measure
like a dove ascending
into heaven
you lifted my heart up
out of despair
I did nothing to deserve this
nor can I repay you
in my weakness
you were there
