Meditations on God

  • Your Problems

Not every problem requires a solution.

More specifically, not every problem requires a solution from you.

Some things are better left alone.

    Maybe they will work out.

    Maybe they will not.

You cannot and should not concern yourself with all of the world’s troubles.

Your time, energy, and attention are limited.

You need to prioritize your resources.

Focus on what and who you can help, but never at the cost of what and who you must help.

An inability to prioritize will spread you thin, pulling you away from that which needs you most, and making you less effective for what truly matters.

    Life is full of problems.

Not all of them are yours.

  • Through A Lens Of Gratitude

Gratitude is the antidote for anger.

It is not that gratitude cancels out that which is has angered you.

Your circumstances, relationships, and experiences are still what they are.

Rather, gratitude refocuses your attention away from that which has angered you toward that which you are thankful for.

That which has angered you still exists, but it begins to lose its power over you.

Gratitude loosens anger’s grasp over your thoughts, feelings, and actions.

While gratitude does not change life itself, it does change you and how you perceive your life.

As you are changed internally, how you express yourself and relate to others begins to change as well.

You begin to notice that there is far less to be angry about than before, not because those things that angered you have stopped happening, but because you are less susceptible to anger itself.

As gratitude changes you, it also changes your perception of the world around you.

Through a lens of gratitude, everything looks a little bit brighter, sounds a little bit more pleasant, and tastes a little bit sweeter.

  • Beautiful Change

There is a lot of ugliness in the world.

But you do not have to add to it.

There is enough tragedy, violence, and hatred to go around.

The forces of evil do not need your help.

Do what you can to make life better for yourself and others.

Do your best to make the world a more beautiful and joyful place.

Make one beautiful thing each day.

Perform one small act of kindness each day.

Say something nice to someone each day, or at least refrain from speaking negatively about or toward others.

It does not take a lot to make this world a better place.

    Start small and be consistent.

You are stronger than you think.

  • This Is Life

    Go outside.

    Open your arms.

    Open your eyes.

    Take a deep breath.

    This is life.

    This is living.

The truth is in front of you.

What you see is what is real.

Do not believe what they tell you.

Do not buy what they are selling.

You get to decide what is important.

It is up to you to determine what you value and what you do not.

You can start over in this moment.

    Breathe.

    Live.

  • A Good Idea

A good idea that does not work is not necessarily a bad idea.

You may simply have poor execution.

The timing may not be right.

Perhaps you have the wrong audience.

Or you might not have the support necessary for your idea to be successful.

There are plenty of reasons why a good idea might fail.

This does not mean you should give up on your idea.

Dig into your failure and try to learn from it.

You may need to prepare better.

It could be that you need to find the correct audience or support network.

Or you may simply need to hold onto your idea a bit longer, waiting for the right time to execute.

But whatever you do, do not stop having ideas.

At the end of the day, it is all just practice anyway.
