all the ways
you have
harmed yourself
and compromised
your soul
and covered it up
with pride
guilt and shame
but God knows
to him there are
no secrets
and he loves you
anyway

We cannot make God
reveal himself to us
we can
however
make ourselves available
to the God
who is constantly
revealing himself to us
we can set aside the time
and enter the inner room
where he awaits us
where we can say to him
I love you too

to you Lord
in this time of tribulation
and consternation
while the wicked and vengeful
lash out at one another
filling the world
with fear and hatred
fill me with your peace
dear God
help me to be a vessel
of the love
that settles stormy seas
and heals the sick

wash over me
