Meditations on God

In quiet submission
to your merciful spirit
I kneel down to pray
waves of peace
wash over me
I know this will pass
like the tides
of pain that so often rush in
for nothing is forever
except you are forever
even as life comes and goes
you remain
I can only hope
to remain with you
