Meditations on God

The sun warms
the tops of the trees
as the blossoms of spring
begin to reveal themselves
bringing with them
the hope of renewal
and rebirth
because even as autumn
has stripped the trees
of their protection
winter is not a season of death
but of deep rest
as with the trees
we emerge from our seasons
of darkness and cold
alive in a new way
in the sunlight of God’s spirit
