Meditations on God

The pain you must feel
dear God
when one of your sheep
leaves the fold
when one of your children
wanders off
into the world
of evil and lies
outside of your care
and protection
how restlessly you must
await their return
crying out for them
to come home
for as your love
is without end
and knows no limits
so too must your sorrow
know no bounds
when one of your own
is lost in the wilderness
