  • Sensitivity And Creativity

The most creative people are often also the most sensitive.

Creatives not only see the world differently, but we also feel the world differently.

    Simply put, creatives feel more.

    We experience everything more intensely.

But with these amplified sensitivities, the world can become extremely overwhelming at times.

This is why sensitivity and creativity seem to go hand-in-hand so often.

A creative’s artistic outlet is a way to process the unique way that we experience the world.

Because creatives take so much in from every experience and interaction, we need a way to let out our feelings and this is where art, in whatever form that happens to take, becomes so essential to our lives.

  • Medicine For The Soul

Art has the power to make life more livable.

No one escapes this life without experiencing tragedy, loss, and heartbreak along the way.

These experiences often leave us feeling confused and alone.

But art has the power to transform these experiences and us along with them.

Art connects us emotionally to others in a mysterious, magical and very real way.

It can give meaning to our suffering and amplification to our joy.

It can make us feel less alone and afraid, or more empowered and courageous.

Art is medicine for the soul.

  • Everywhere And Nowhere

It can be uncomfortable to stand out.

When you cannot seem to fit in with others, it is tempting to conform.

You may find, however, that conformity is more painful than isolation.

We all want to belong; we want to know that we are not alone in this world.

But belonging cannot be found by pretending to be someone you are not.

You have to find a way to become comfortable with yourself, with your strengths as well as your weaknesses.

If you can do this, even if you cannot find belonging with others, you will find belonging within yourself.

By being comfortable with and accepting of who you are, you will discover that you belong everywhere you are even if you belong nowhere at all.*

    This is freedom.

    This is peace.

    *Inspired by Maya Angelou

  • Your Calling

If you find the thing that you love doing for the sake of itself, you have found your calling.

Do not take this for granted.

    Not everyone gets this opportunity.

    Make the most of it.

Dive as deeply as you can into this work.

    Get comfortable.

    Make a home there.

Explore every aspect of it until it becomes you and you become it.

Then, share what you have found with others.

    This is a gift.

Do not hoard it to yourself.

Share it in your own unique way.

No one else has your perspective.

This is how you change the world.

  • Difficult Relationships

    Healthy relationships are difficult.

    Unhealthy relationships are also difficult.

    Difficulty cannot be avoided.

A good life is not an easy life.

A good life is a life in which the difficulty we face has meaning.

Do not seek, therefore, to experience less difficulty.

Seek instead to experience difficulty that improves your character, that makes your relationships stronger, and that adds value to your life.
