Meditations on God

As I sit
in contemplation
the prayer of listening
from within the silence
a thousand thoughts
flood my mind
with fear and hope
joy and sadness
anger and forgiveness
remorse and mercy
a thousand opportunities
to be still
and know
that He is God
I am merely His servant
listening for His quiet voice
that quiets my heart
