Meditations on God

The Lord consoles us
but also removes his consolation
when he feels
our reliance is on it
instead of him
we do not serve a feeling
we serve the Lord
who does not ask us
to trust a feeling
but to trust his will
and his plan
even when we cannot see
the light ahead
for the darkness
that surrounds us
