In Silence

In silence

I rest my weary head

and my aching bones

upon the merciful bosom of God

I am comforted

by the quiet

that once tortured me

I find peace

in the darkness

I once feared

in God’s embrace

I have found the peace of heaven

and a glimpse of eternity

from this silence I was born

and to it I willingly return
